Nursing Home Abuse

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NURSING HOME ABUSE

When a loved one is placed in the trust of a nursing home or long-term care facility, they are usually paying to ensure they receive proper care. Unfortunately, unsafe conditions exist. When patients are injured or suffer from lack of care, legal action should be taken immediately.

WRONGFUL DEATH

A practice or injury that leads to death in a nursing home can often be linked back to the facility's negligence or abuse. Commonly, the staff was either not trained or not following procedures.

Problems with equipment, medication and other items may also be the responsibility of the nursing home.

In these cases, the nursing home may be at fault for the premature death of your loved one.
LET US HELP

Any of these warning signs is alarming and outrageous. Yet, often the victim may not be able to speak for himself or herself due to dementia or some other form of cognitive impairment.

If anything alarms you at a nursing home or long-term care facility, always register your concerns with management. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Indiana State Department of Health Division of Long-Term Care Complaint Hotline at 800-246-8909.
